Authentic bourbon/whiskey barrel heads are removed directly from the barrel and are shipped as-is. They did their job - and it shows. Dirt, scuffs and wording from the distillery or cooperage where they came from should be expected. The back or interior-facing side of the bourbon/whiskey barrel head will be charred black.

• IMPORTANT NOTE – The tops are reinforced with wooden dowels so we always recommend reinforcing the wood dowels with wood glue to hold the heads together as they come from barrels that were no longer usable; They may come apart in transit; They may also need to be sanded down

• NATURALLY DISTRESSED – These wooden bourbon barrel tops are definitely not in perfect condition—that’s a good thing! The heads are raw and come just the way they were taken off the barrel: dirty, scuffed up, may have wording from the distillery or cooperage they came from
